A meme to get the writing juices flowing. And I may just kill my cousin.
When you see this, post a little weensy excerpt from as many random works-in-progress as you can find lying around. Who knows? Maybe inspiration will burst forth and do something, um, inspiration-y.
Crack!Fic
It should have been a routine drop off. Foalan hates being away from home for more than a couple of hours. It still surprises him how much of a homebody he's become in the last few months. Reforming old relationships with his family aside, he's become comfortable being in one place. Considering how much he used to travel, it's odd how domesticity seems to fit him
But he needs to keep tabs on the supply runs for the club, and he needs to double check the electrical work, and how the magical converters were handling the load. He slips out one of the exits of Hiaus Stauia, and walk out into the bright autumn sunshine. He shivers and adjusts his jacket. It takes him several dizzying seconds to get used to the sudden gravity switch from Aruinnbith to Terra. He's been away longer than he expected. The sunglasses hide the pure white of his eyes and he joins the throng of humans as they run through their little maze of a city.

Four months out of hell and Dean's still trying to find new ways to get rid of the nightmares. Drinking doesn't work, not well at least. Sex isn't much of an option either. He's all for casual sex, but even if it's enough to get rid of the nightmares for a few minutes it doesn't get rid of all of them.
He's on the edge and he knows it. He's getting into stupid fights, coming back to the motel bloody and needing stitches. He stinks of beer and losing touch with everything. The hunt is not just getting to him, life is.

"Dean?"
It woofs. That could be a yes, that could be, anything. Sam isn't really sure. He looks around the blown out room. Looks for any sign of the witches they're fighting, or Dean. But it's just him, and the german shepherd sitting next to him. On closer inspection, it's wearing Dean's amulet. It/He, woofs again and then starts sniffing the ground and heading outdoors.
Sam gets to his feet and stumbles after the dog, leaving the house with a last glance. The last fight with the witches leaves the house in ruins. It should have killed the both of them, and Sam's not sure how he managed to get out of their unharmed, but if the worst thing that happens is Dean's a dog for a couple of hours, he'll call it a win.
Dean dog is by the car, sniffing around the tires. Sam watches as he lifts his leg and — "Hey, Dean will. You will — Do you have to be so damn literal with marking your territory?" Sam shakes his head and unlocks the driver's side door. Dean jumps in and sits in the driver's seat, panting.
Bigbang Version 1
Fraternizing with students is strictly forbidden. Chris knows this, hell; he helped write part of the charter covering this exact thing. So why, is he even considering it? James T. Kirk maybe a genius, but he’s also stubborn, headstrong, lacking in discipline, and shows only contempt for authority. Christopher knows he should let Kirk go as a lost cause. Kirk has been nothing but trouble since he got to the academy three weeks ago, and Chris is tired of trying to convince the board to keep him on. He maybe a genius. But Starfleet has enough of them. And as much as Chris thinks they'll benefit from Jim Kirk's — perspective — they'll only take so much of it before they drop him for an easier candidate.
Which is why Kirk is standing in his office, hearing the same lecture he's heard every week since he got here. Chris can tell by the glazed look in Krik's eyes that he's no longer listening. He nods in the right place, he says 'yes sir' at the right times, and even though Chris knows he's not sincere, no one else can tell.
"Now, Cadet Kirk, in light of your recent activities, this board has decided to keep you on as a student on a probationary basis. You must submit to an advisor for weekly meetings to ensure your continued success."
Bigbang Version 2
They’ve barely broken the edge of the worm hole and Kirk is on his feet. “Spock you have the conn,” he says and presses the turbo lift for deck seven. It’s a short ride and he’s out of the doors before they’re fully opened. He’s in sickbay in minutes. He doesn’t see Bones, and most of the beds are occupied with injured Vulcans. Pike is nowhere to be found, and Kirk is pretty sure that he’s still in surgery.
He’s here to check on the status of Pike, and the others. The fact that he could have asked for a simple status report notwithstanding, Kirk needs to physically see what is happening. Needs to be away from the bridge for five minutes. He also needs to have Bones look him over, at least a brief once over before he goes back to the bridge.
Foreign Language in Fiction
You’re in the middle of writing a piece of fiction, and maybe English isn’t your main character’s first language. They can speak it, but emotional scenes they use their original language. This is a great character piece. It offers something meaty the reader can cling to. But it can be over used. This article will hopefully explain how to use a second language in your fiction properly.
Foreign languages are a great way to add spice and that little something extra to your fic. It’s great, and if you’re proficient in another language, even better.
Okay, so that's what currently in the works. The Renegade Angel fic is also in the works but I'm not posting anything of it here. I want to keep that fic under wraps until it's time to post it. right now I think I'm going to try and dick around in one my image programs and make some pressies.

Pike would either have to out think or out maneuver Kirk. Maybe he has some evidence of his misdeeds that Pike hasn't shown anyone else?
